Katrina Kaif

Katrina Kaif the new comedy queen is a Bollywood, Telugu and Malayalam actress who was born on on 16 July 1984. Talking about her personal life, Katrina Kaif was born in Hong Kong to a Kashmiri father, Mohammed Kaif and a British mother, Suzzane Turquotte.

Katrina Kaif saw success with the 2005 film Sarkar where she played the bit part of Abhishek Bachchan's girlfriend. Her next release, Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya in the same year earned her the Stardust Breakthrough Performance Award.

In 2007, Katrina Kaif appeared in the hit movie Namastey London, wherein she starred alongside Akshay Kumar for the second time after the 2006 release Humko Deewana Kar Gaye. Since then, Katrina Kaif had appeared in a series of box office hits that include Apne, Partner and Welcome.

In 2008, Katrina Kaif played a negative role for the first time in Abbas-Mustan's hit action thriller Race. Katrina's second release of the year was Anees Bazmee's production Singh Is Kinng. The film was a big success at the box office. But Subhash Ghai's Yuvvraaj, was a critical and commercial failure at the box office.

Katrina than came up with her 2009 release New York, with John Abraham that was a successful film. Katrina Kaif's performance was highly appreciated. Honoured with the Rajiv Gandhi Award in 2009, the actress also appeared in bollywood film Blue opposite Akshay Kumar. Her latest releases include Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani opposite Ranbir Kapoor.

Her upcoming film De Dana Dan is ready for release on November 27, 2009. Rajneeti which is a 2010 project will star Ajay Devgan, Nana Patekar, Katrina Kaif, Ranbir Kapoor, Arjun Rampal and Manoj Bajpai in pivotal roles.

Sonali Bendre

Sonali Bendre was born on 1 January 1975. This famous Indian actress has starred mostly in Bollywood films but has acted in a few Marathi, Telugu, Tamil and Kannada films as well.

Sonali Bendre studied in Banglore and Mumbai in Kendriya Vidyalaya and Holy Cross High School Thane. Sonali married film producer-director Goldie Behl, on November 12, 2002.

Sonali Bendre in 1993 started out her career as a model for Lakme. Sonali Bendre made her debut in 1994 in Aag opposite Govinda and the film won her the Star Screen Award Most Promising Newcomer.

After that the lady struggled for success with films like Bhai (1997), Sarfarosh, Zakhm, Duplicate, Kadhalar Dhinam (Tamil film), Hum Saath-Saath Hain: We Stand United (1999), Tera Mera Saath Rahey and Anaahat (2003) among many others.

She is also known for being one of the few actresses who acted opposite Aamir Khan, Shahrukh Khan, Saif Ali Khan and Salman Khan. Besides her acting, Sonali Bendre was also recognized as a graceful dancer through films like Bombay, Lajja and Major Saab etc.

In 2003, Sonali Bendre made a special appearance as Shahrukh Khan's doctor in the film Kal Ho Naa Ho, which also starred Saif Ali Khan and Preity Zinta. Alongwith Saif Ali Khan and Farida Jalal on February 26, 2005, Sonali hosted the 50th Filmfare Awards.

In 1995, the actress won the Filmfare Lux New Face Award. In 2001 Sonali Bendre also won the Star Screen Award Best Supporting Actress for her performance in Hamara Dil Aapke Paas Hai where she co-starred with Anil Kapoor and Aishwarya Rai. In 2004, she won the Star Screen Award, Best Actress-Marathi, for the film Anaahat.

Amrita Arora

Amrita Arora was born on January 31, 1981. This Bollywood actress made her debut opposite Fardeen Khan with the film Kitne Door Kitne Paas which was not successful at the box office.

Amrita Arora's first successful movie was Awara Paagal Deewana. After that a series of flop followed, one of which was controversial movie Girlfriend (2004) opposite Isha Koppikar. Amrita Arora also appeared on the show Koffee with Karan which was hosted by Karan Johar with her sister.

Amrita Arora made an appearance in Farah Khan's latest film Om Shanti Om in a song named 'Deewangi' along with her sister and brother-in-law. Other than this Jeet: Feel the Force, Hello, Heroes, Golmaal Returns, Kambakth Ishq, Team-The Force.

Saira Banu

Saira Banu the living legend of Bollywood film industry was born on August 23, 1944. Saira Banu has acted in many blockbusters from 1960-80's. Saira Banu is married to the famous film actor Dilip Kumar. Saira Banu's father was film Producer Mian Ehsan-ul-Haq, who Produced film Phool in Bombay and film Wadah in Pakistan.

Saira Banu made her acting debut at the age of 17 opposite Shammi Kapoor in the 1961 hit film Junglee for which she earned her first Filmfare nomination as Best Actress. The film not only gave Saira Banu all fame but the flick also made her a successful actress throughout the 1960s and early 1970s.

Saira's films like Hrishikesh Mukherjee's Chaitali met with limited success. Saira Banu also earned three Filmfare nominations as Best Actress for Shagird (1967), Diwana (1968), and Sagina (1974).

In 1976, Saira chose to end her film career. In 1984 Saira Banu appeared in a cameo opposite Dilip Kumar in the film Duniya and made her last film appearance in the 1988 film Faisla.

Munmun Sen

Munmun Sen was born 28 March 1948. This Indian film actress did movies in Bengali, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Marathi and Kannada languages. Munmun Sen's Bollywood journey was not as successful as compared to the Bengali film industry.

It was before and after entering into film industry, Munmun Sen modeled for soap ads which were quite controversial in the 1980s. Apart from this the actress also did couple of Bengali tele-films.

Munmun Sen has appeared in over 60 films and 40 TV serials. She gave her best performance in the Telugu flick Sirivennela that was directed by K.Vishwanath.
The actress was also active in social work and even thought about adopting a baby, even before she was married.

Munmun Sen started her career in big and small screens after marriage and motherhood. Munmun Sen made her debut in Andar Baahar (1984). Her role in that film also created a storm of controversy.

After Zakhmi Dil (1994) Sen did not appear in films until 2003 when she starred in an unsuccessful thriller Kucch To Hai. Munmun Sen is also honoured with the Nandi State Award, the Kalakendra Screen Award and the Bharat Nirman Award.

Bipasha Basu

Bipasha Basu who was born on January 7, 1979 is a former model and Indian actress. Bipasha Basu was the winner of the Ford's Godrej Cinthol Supermodel contest for 1996.

In 2007, the newspaper Eastern Eye selected Bipasha Basu as Asia's sexiest woman. After becoming the winner of the Ford Godrej Cinthol contest, Bipasha Basu was flown to New York by the Ford Company, where she had a successful modelling career at the age of 17.

The actress studied science till the 12th standard at Bhavan's Gangabux Kanoria Vidyamandir and later she took up commerce at The Bhawanipur Gujarati Education Society College, which was an undergraduate college affiliated with the University of Calcutta.

The most talented Bipasha Basu made her film debut with Abbas Mustan's Ajnabee, which also starred Akshay Kumar, Bobby Deol and Kareena Kapoor. She won the Filmfare Best Female Debut Award for her performance.

In 2002, Bipasha starred in Telugu movie Takkari Donga opposite Tollywood superstar Mahesh Babu and Vikram Bhatt's thriller Raaz. For her performance in Raaz, she received her first Best Actress nomination at the Filmfare. Bipasha Basu in 2003 was nominated for the Filmfare Best Villain Award for the film Jism.

In 2008 Bipasha Basu starred in Race. Bips also received good reviews for her role in Bachna Ae Haseeno opposite Ranbir Kapoor. In 2009 Bipasha signed her first Hollywood venture Chaimera alongside Billy Zane. Her Bollywood projects are Pankh, All The Best: Fun Begins, Lamhaa and Sob Choritro Kalponik.

Rati Agnihotri

The veteran Indian actress Rati Agnihotri was born on December 10, 1960 to a Punjabi family in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. The actress has acted in ten languages including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Bengali, Punjabi and English.

At the age of 16 Rati Agnihotri made her debut in a Tamil film Pudhiya Varpukal in 1979. Bhagyaraj who played the lead role in the film also made his debut from this film. The film became a blockbuster, and Rati got the overnight fame. Since then Rati Agnihotri starred in Telugu and Kannada films and made 32 films in just three years.

Rati got a brilliant chance to work with big banners and top stars, such as Kamal Hassan and Rajinikanth. The lady had worked with director K. Balachander once before and had been Kamal Hassan's leading lady in many South Indian films, so she wasn't surprised when they approached her for the Hindi remake of their Telugu blockbuster, Marocharithra (1979).

The film was re-titled Ek Duje Ke Liye (1981). The film became the top grossing hit of the year and marked the debut into Hindi films of 5 stars of the South Indian film industry director K. Balachander, Kamal Hassan, Rati Agnihotri, supporting actress Madhavi, and playback singer S.P. Balasubramaniam.

Rati Agnihotri starred in over 43 Hindi films. Her biggest hits were Shaukeen (1982), Farz Aur Kanoon (1982), Coolie (1983) opposite megastar Amitabh Bachchan, and Tawaif (film) (1985) for which Rati received her second Filmfare nomination as Best Actress.
